Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we highly recommend booking your trip in advance to secure your spot, especially during our busy summer season (June to September). Hunts and custom charters are often booked a year or more in advance.

What is your cancellation policy?

FOR ALL FLYOUTS EXCEPT FOR HUNTS: If you cancel your trip 180 or more days prior to your departure date, you will receive a refund in the amount of your deposit less a 10% administration fee. If you cancel your trip 179 or less days prior to your departure date, there is no refund. If you do not show up on the day of your trip, payment in full is required. If your trip is canceled due to weather or a mechanical issue with our plane, and you cannot reschedule, you will receive a refund, less a 10% administration fee.

FOR HUNTS: For trips booked a year or more in advance, we require a $1,000 non-refundable booking fee. Cancellations made 180 days or more before the trip are eligible for a refund minus this fee. For cancellations made within 179 days of the trip, no refunds are provided unless the spot is filled, in which case we’ll refund your payment minus the booking fee.

What should I bring with me?

This depends on the type of tour you’ve booked, but here are some general recommendations:
  • Fishing trips: Bring your gear, waders, and appropriate clothing for Alaska’s unpredictable weather.
  • Bear viewing or flightseeing: Wear layers, sturdy shoes, and bring a camera for capturing those unforgettable moments.
  • Hunting expeditions: Pack according to the weight limits provided for your specific hunt (typically 100 lbs per person, plus weapon).

We’ll provide specific packing guidelines when you book your trip.

Are there weight restrictions for flights?

Yes, our aircraft have weight limits, which vary depending on the type of trip and aircraft used. For most trips, the limit is 25 lbs per person, plus any equipment. We’ll provide detailed guidelines when you book.

(For hunting trips, the limit is 100 lbs)

What’s the best time of year to visit?

The summer months (June through September) are ideal for fishing, flightseeing, and bear viewing. Hunting opportunities are available in both spring and fall, depending on the species. Each season offers unique experiences, so it depends on what you’re looking for.

Lodging and Amenities

Do you offer lodging?

Yes! We have four beautiful vacation rental houses adjacent to our base on Arness Lake. These homes are tastefully decorated with Alaskan outdoor themes and offer modern amenities like fully equipped kitchens, flat-screen TVs, and WiFi.

What are the rates for your vacation rentals?

  • $350 per night for up to 4 people
  • $85 per additional person, per night (over 4 people)

Note: Processing fish is not allowed in these houses.

Do you recommend other lodging options?

If our vacation rentals are unavailable, we can help you find alternative accommodations, including hotels, motels, cabins, and bed and breakfasts in the Kenai area. For remote wilderness lodging, we recommend:

Safety and Regulations

Are your flights safe?

Absolutely. Safety is our top priority. Our aircraft are meticulously maintained, and our experienced bush pilots have decades of expertise flying in Alaska’s unique and challenging terrain.

What licenses or permits do I need for hunting?

Non-residents hunting moose, caribou, Dall sheep, or grizzly bear must meet specific licensing and guiding requirements. For example:
  • You’ll need to be accompanied by a licensed guide or an Alaskan relative over 19 years old.
  • You must watch mandatory educational videos for certain hunts, available through the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
